Artist Statement 

Tiarna is a multimedium artist who specialises in metal and ceramic work. Her current pieces express her embodied experience of being in the natural landscape. This is done through making a series of responsive drawings of plants, places and textures – she then translates the drawings into tangible 3D items that can be worn or displayed. Each piece corresponds to one another through the use of materials, texture and pattern; When collaged together she finds beauty in the irregularity and the fragility of each component.

The jewellery and wearable art is designed to be collaged together, the juxtaposition of the pieces articulate their irregularity, of shape, texture drawing attention to the surface patterns.

Tiarna’s designs stem from her love for nature. Her vision is to encourage others to think more consciously about their own environmental impact through their handling of and interaction with her work.
